Aerosmith music from another dimension leak

'Freedom Fighter' has a Warren Zevon feel lyrically and singing wise, cool song. 'Something' and 'Street Jesus' cool rockers. Really nice catchy ballad in 'Can't Stop Loving You' but not really an Aerosmith song more like Steven Tyler guesting on another singers record. 'Something', 'Freedom Fighter', 'Street Jesus' and 'Can't Stop Loving You'. There are four good songs, in my opinion. But the rest just really hard to get through. Anything Pump back to their first is worth getting. Get Aerosmith, Toys in the Attic, or even Permanent Vacation ('St. Too much fussing and arranging not enough straight up rockin'. They did a blues album a few years ago and it was overdone, not straightforward too. And make really bad pop ballads their thing. They balanced it well up to the record Pump but since then they just overdo everything. When Aerosmith had a hit with the terrible song 'Angel' it created a conflict of who they were. If in Guantanamo Bay they need some repetitive sounds to torture the inmates just put this record on it would get'em to talk. When it works it's really cool but when it doesn't it's really hard to get through. Lots of big punchy chorus' they repeat over and over with lots of fluff aroundit.ДЄerosmith have always had a unique way of arranging songs. The band is more like hired studio musicians to add a little rock n roll to the pop feel. It is the producers record along with Steven Tyler. It starts with a really cool lick on the first song but falls apart with the repetition and overdone arrangements and songs. Lots overproduced over arranged songs that go on and on. Here's my Amazon review on Dimension from the time. But I don't think the band really believed in it though, very little, if any of the material, is now played live. Too bad not more of that, but again, it' a good (last?) effort. 'Oh Yeah' (Perry) and 'Out Go The Lights' (Tyler-Perry) have that old Aero vibe. You also see were the oustide people are less involved. The new material from 1987 on really doesn't hold up.but maybe that's the best they could have done anyway.I'm trying to go back now and listen to the newer albums and I agree that 'Music From Another Dimension' isn't a bad effort at all. But they went the corporate route and 'sold out.' Hey, their choice. Click to expand.That's the thing though, is it an improvement? Or a commercial improvement? What would Aero have sounded like without all the outside influence? It may have very well been that Aero - like many other bands - had their creativity come to an end in the mid 1980s and if they continued they would have been one of those bands from yesteryear who would now play small theaters, etc.
